Worship Director - Dave Maciel
I have been involved with the worship music environment since grade school. I was fortunate to be allowed to play in different church bands and youth group bands from 11 years old to the present day. The older I became, the more I studied the scriptures. The more I studied, the more I came to know that when considering what the Bible teaches about worship, music is a small part of the whole.
My goal in working with any team of musicians in a church setting is to incorporate as many other aspects of worship as I can. Any worship team rehearsal I lead will be accompanied by study of the scriptures. We will cover subjects like: how to study scripture, what did the early church understand worship to be?, how did the Israelites understand and express worship?, and so on.
We worship a wonderful God. We are privileged to have His word. He has given us an incredible amount of information about Himself in His word. It is by the careful study of that material and our efforts to live in the light of it that we come into a deeper knowledge of WHO it is we worship, WHY it is we worship, and WHAT acceptable and pleasing worship is to Him.
